For enterprises both well established and those still growing, IT infrastructure and maintenance costs can put a big drain on your budget, especially when you’re housing robust systems like Microsoft’s SharePoint server. Because of how dependent businesses are on such technology these days, it’s hard to cut corners on these two important IT costs. Doing so could expose your enterprise to technology downtime that ultimately affects your bottom line.

As such, the search to minimize these costs has led many to consider the cloud—an off-premises solution that allows a trusted third-party vendor to handle select IT infrastructure and maintenance.

Migrating to the cloud allows your business to have the same access to the applications you currently use, without loss of functionality and at a lower overall cost. There are a number of reasons why large companies are quickly moving towards the cloud and the statistics are there to prove it:

  • Computing workloads in public clouds are expected to jump nearly 21 percent in the next three years, according to Mark Murphy, enterprise software analyst at Piper Jaffray. The current computing workload on public clouds is 9.7 percent.
  • By next year, 80 percent of global enterprises will be using the cloud to host infrastructure—or infrastructure as a service (IaaS)—according to Forbes.

While the demand for cloud migration is certainly there, some IT departments aren’t prepared or may not have the resources available to pull off a successful migration for an infrastructure like SharePoint. However, there are proven methods that when executed properly make for an easy migration.

To help get you started, AAJ Technologies has invited our Practice Lead on Portals and Collaboration Shams Zuha to guide you through a proven migration methodology on an upcoming June 11 webinar at 1:30 p.m. EST. As an application architect with 13 years of experience in design, development, testing and implementation of comprehensive high performance and high availability enterprise solutions, Zuha will help ease the worries of your upcoming cloud migration.
